S/V PAVITI TERN PRESRVATION TRUST INC
The Corporation's sole purpose is the preservation of S/V PAVITI TERN as a Dedicated Veterans Service Vessel. The Corporation owns S/V PAVITI TERN, a federally documented vessel, hull number 515906. She was built in 1938 in Fairhaven, MA at the Casey Boatworks.
The Corporation and this website publication are funded until Janurary, 2028. Our present Board of Directors have agreed to serve for three years if neccessary. At the end of the three years, if replacement volunteers have not been found, S/V PAVITI TERN is to be decommissioned in a dignified manner. Our charter does not allow the sale or transfer of the vessel under any circumstances. She is to be preserved only for use as a Dedicated Veterans Service Vessel.
Ultimately, our goal is to replace the present Board of Directors with civilian & veterans. Join our Board of Directors or our Steering Committee consisting of five to ten members to oversee vessel maintenance and preservation. Nautical-minded stewards as well as those with financial backgrounds, waterborne experience, mechanical skills, fishermen, shipwrights, and anyone interested in historical maritime preservation. Veterans as well as civilian volunteers are encouraged to apply for our steering committee.
